As well as the countless weddings/parties/private events Kevin is privileged to perform at during the year, other recent happenings / news includes....
Kevin will be performing live on the main stage at the world famous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London on Sunday 28th November 2010 (’Sunday Jazz Lunch’). Kevin and his Swing Band was honoured to be chosen to provide the entertainment for The Princess Margarita of Romania Trust’s Annual Gala Dinner, held in London, in the presence of H.R.H. Crown Princess Margarita of Romania & Prince Radu.
Fun was had by all at the Fourcourt Traders Awards 2010 (hosted by TV presenter Mark Durden-Smith) & the after dinner entertainment was top notch too: “Frank Sinatra” (i.e. Kevin) and an Elvis (Vegas Style),both were backed by the fabulous Pete Long Big Band.
Kevin provided entertainment as a Swing solo singer for retail giant House Of Fraser’s recent Biba Fashion Launch (and by a strange coincidence was also performing at a private staff event for their main competitor, John Lewis, a few days later!).
Kevin & his Jazz Trio performed for the first time at this historic venue, against a very regal backdrop with a large ‘Royal Crest’ above their heads… a first for them all we think?.
Kevin with Rat Pack quintet entertained those attending the Exclusive Preview Evening prior to the start of the main show. Those dancing seemed hugely disappointed when the band had to finish due to the fireworks finale. The events planners later wrote “A huge thank you for last night. It was brilliant to see everyone dancing, they were clearly enjoying your effortless performance!”
Kevin sang the best of The Rat Pack to the townsfolk and the mayor at the above festival’s long awaited “Las Vegas Comes To Biddulph!” evening, with the mayor inviting Kevin back to perform at his civic ball next year.
The residents’ committee of one of London’s most prestigious locations, Belgrave Square, chose Kevin & his Jazz trio to provide background entertainment at their Summer Garden Party. Their exclusive caterers Mosimann’s (Caterers By Royal Appointment) were impressed too and said “I just thought they were amazing and created a great atmosphere & I’ve passed on your details to the rest of my team”.
Female racegoers were relaxing in the sunshine listening to Kevin Michael Buble Tributes style at this year’s Ladies Day at the Epsom Derby Festival, and not appearing too upset to be missing the horses thundering down the famous turf.
Kevin had a run of London held events in June, with one particular week having four consecutive nights in the capital (at The Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, Mayfair; Belgrave Square, Belgravia; The Gore Hotel, Knightsbridge; and Cambridge Cottage in Kew Gardens, Richmond-upon-Thames.
Performing outside Richmond’s wonderful old theatre, alongside tap dancer Derek Hartley of Pineapple Dance Studios , to the enjoyment & appreciation of fair-goers & passing public alike. Fair Organizer, W. Walters wrote “Richmond Theatre got in touch with me to say that they have received some amazing feedback from what you did on Saturday, and they thought both you and Derek were really top notch”
Kevin’s acting skills were under the microscope when the actress owner of a small theatre company booked Kevin for her father’s 80th Birthday Party’s ‘This Is Your Life’ segment, to re-tell the tale as Frank Sinatra of when her father had met Sinatra in London in the 60’s. (A sample of Kevin’s spoken Sinatra accent can be heard on the Sinatra Page)
“The accompanying trio for much of (Marlene) VerPlanck’s tour don’t come any better than Paul Morgan on bass, Bobby Worth on drums and the inestimable John Pearce on piano. Sound-wise they strike the perfect balance in what has to be one of London’s most superb cabaret venues “. This same trio are with Kevin on his ‘It was A Very Good Year’ Video and on our Swing/Jazz BandPage’s audio demo ‘Brazil’.
See Kevin live in London with sublime jazz trio, Paul Morgan, Bobby Worth & Simon Colam. He’ll be performing a captivating set that includes beautifully crafted works by Strayhorn, Gershwin, Duke & Jobim, as well as ever popular standards such as Lets Fall In Love, S’wonderful and The Best Is Yet To Come; a Beatles song gets a clever ‘Brubeck’ treatment and an 80’s classic a surprise lounge-jazz re-arrangement… another not-to-be-missed show.
